Awning Winder Replacement Options

Does your Jason awning window win​der need replacing? 

The Jason awning windows winders were upgraded in November 2018 and look different to the ones installed prior. The new handle has a fold away handle tip which is handy when you have blinds installed as the blinds will close without hitting the handle tip. 

Options for Changing The Winder: 

1. You can purchase the parts required via the Jason Windows Spare Parts Shop and do the change over yourself

2. Got better things to do? Raise a ticket and book a service call with the Jasons Service Team 

DIY Replacement Instructions

Replacing the awnin​g winder unit

Replacement awning winder units can be purchased through the Jason Windows Spare Parts Shop. To replace the entire awning winder unit, follow the instructions in this DIY video: 

Replacing the awning winder han​dle only

If the handle is the only part that requires replacing, you can purchase the new awning winder handle from the Jason Spare Parts Shop. Follow the below instructions for handle replacement only: 

Parts Required:

1. New awning winder handle
   
2. 3mm allen key
   
3. 2.5mm allen key
   
4. Flat head screw driver 

STEP 1

Remove the awning winder unit as this will make it easier to change the handle. You can follow the instructions in the above video 

STEP 2

Loosen the grub screw on your existing arm with the 3mm allen key 

STEP 3

 Wedge a flat head screw driver under the base of the awning winder handle and try to slightly lift the arm up creating a gap between the awning winder unit base and the arm

STEP 4

Pull the handle off and you should be left with the adaptor visiable 

STEP 5

Loosen the grub screw on the new winder arm with the smaller 2.5mm allen key

STEP 6

Place the new winder arm onto the adaptor shown in step 4, and re-tighten the grub screw with the 2.5mm allen key
