How do I Clean my Jason Security Screens?
Our security screens shouldn’t be removed for cleaning purposes. Though there are still multiple ways to clean your screens without compromising security.
For a sliding screen window, you can usually hose the window down from the outside. However, if you want a more thorough clean then you can remove the sliding part of the window to gain access to the inside of the security screen. See below for an instructional video on how to remove the window.
For an awning (aka winding) window, to gain access to the inside of the security screen you must wind your window out fully and use the open gap to reach the security screen.

Security Screen Cleaning Guidelines
- Like all fixtures around the home some maintenance is required to preserve the original appearance of the product:
- Surfaces should be kept clean by prompt removal of all dust, dirt, grime and any foreign matter using a microfiber cloth or glove with clean water and a small amount of mild detergent.
- Thoroughly wash off any residue of detergent with clean water to avoid deterioration of the coating which will occur as a result of soap deposition.
- Do not under any circumstances use any abrasive type cleaning agent (Ajax® or similar).
- If small scratches occur, they can be buffed out using a good quality car polish. Care must be taken to ensure the coated surface is not removed.
For screens that have built up significant dirt over time, use the following cleaning steps:
- Brush away loose dust and grit with a soft brush to prevent scratching.
- Prepare warm water with a mild detergent (car wash & wax works well for extra protection).
- Gently wipe the screen side to side and up and down, rinsing your cloth frequently.
- Rinse with clean water or wipe with a fresh damp cloth.
- Repeat wiping and rinsing until the screen is clean.
- Dry with a clean microfiber cloth.

NOTE: Avoid letting excess water enter the locking mechanism.
